Workshop Description:
We will start with understanding all of the inputs to create proper irrigation schedules. With this background we’ll show how “smart controllers” work and their benefits to both the contractor and their customers. The class is designed to give the student real site examples in areas like Indiana to help them develop valid schedules. The impact of water use in landscape maintenance is significant and many contractors and landscapers are being forced to change past practices. Experience has shown us that many irrigation systems are set only once each year at the time the system is turned on in the spring. Developing weather patterns in the mid-west dictate that irrigation scheduling be monitored and perhaps changed as we go through the growing season.
